In order to achieve significantly tighter tolerances compared to calibrated welded tubing, tubes can be cold drawn after welding. By selecting a suitable drawing die and drawing mandrel, the outer diameter, inner diameter and wall thickness can be adapted to the customer's specifications.
Redrawing tubes multiple times can positively influence the surface and structure of the material. It also allows special dimensions and, if needed, even specified hardnesses to be produced.
Depending on the tube dimensions, very tight tolerances can be achieved this way. Cold hardening the material by forming can achieve tensile strengths in excess of 1,100 MPa. All round tubes can be polished at request.
